Weekly Update | November 16th

This Sunday at 5:00pm we will be having a Thanksgiving service and dinner at Broadview’s Main Campus. This is one of our biggest events of the year because folks from both campuses and all four morning worship services come together to break bread and give thanks to the Lord for his great grace in our life. There will be a short worship service at 5:00 with singing and testimonies. Then, afterward, we will share in some turkey, dressing and lots of laughs.

At the end of the day, church isn’t mostly about any one event or program. Church is about the people who Jesus is gathering for himself from every tribe, tongue and nation. We are part of that people. I hope you’ll join us as we celebrate what God has done over the past year at Broadview and individually in each of our lives.

The search team for our music pastor has finally been put together. Folks from each of our three worship services will serve on the team. Our 8:25 service has a different genre of music compared to our 9:40 & 11:00 services. We’ve put folks on the team who will be able to select a candidate that leads both types of music. Many of the people on the search team currently serve in the music ministry. Others do not.

Be praying for this team as they begin the process of looking through resumes and discerning the will of the Lord for our church moving forward. Here are the team members.

Wes Terry
Vernon Ferguson
Don Jacobsen
David Hamilton
Blake Lohse
Kelly Willis
Randy Voorhees
Mary Cornelison
Jeanne Cason
Butch Parker

Pray that this team will possess great unity and a cooperative spirit. They, along with our deacons, will be modeling for our church how we all should position ourselves in seeking the Lord’s will during this time. I’m looking forward to seeing God work in this process just as he is doing in our search for a youth minister.

I’ve been blown away by the faithfulness and perfect timing of the Lord throughout these past few months. It’s just another reminder that he loves Broadview Baptist Church more than we could ever imagine. He is working all things together for good.

Please continue praying and doing what you can to keep moving the mission forward. Let us not take our eye off the prize. These transitions in our church do not change our mission or our vision. They remain the same. Let’s keep being a people who multiply disciples, bless our city, plant/revitalize churches and send missionaries.

Again, please join us this Sunday for both our morning and evening worship services so that you can hear about the great things the Lord has done in each of those arenas. If there is anything I can pray for you about, just reply to this email and let me know!

Blessings,
Pastor Wes
