Weekly Update | March 26th

Hello Church Family,

I hope you’re having a great week! It feels like things are finally on the downhill slope for the first time in months! The staff has been working hard to prepare for big days like Easter, Multiply: Bless the West, Family Day & the Greater Campaign. Those things are finally coming to a head and we’re all breathing a little bit easier up here at the office.
Today is administrative assistants day. Cyndy, Judy and myself all went out to Jason’s Deli and had a nice lunch together. As a church, we are blessed to have these two. Over lunch we talked about how their role goes unnoticed to a large degree.

I can preach a sermon and hear immediate feedback (for better or worse!) They can serve for months on end and nobody even really notice they were the ones who made something happen. Silent servants.

They’re not the only ones, obviously. This is true of many of our volunteers as well. Even though they don’t get much limelight or verbal praise, they serve the church faithfully and with great joy. These are the folks that make the church worth believing in (even though it’s imperfect.)

The ministerial staff all went out for lunch on Monday as well. It was to celebrate a job well done in light of all of their effort this past spring. They’ve done a really great job of going above and beyond on these special projects we’ve had as of late.

Taylor and Daniel are still adjusting to being on staff. I think it’s going to take them a while to get used to life on this team. Between the constant nerf-gun wars and non-stop hazing from Jeff, things can stay pretty unpredictable! You never know what you’re going to walk into on a Monday morning staff meeting.

In all seriousness though, part of loving your job is loving the people with whom you work. There’s a lot of love on this team. That’s not to say we don’t have the occasional “tense moment.” I suppose that’s true no matter where you work or who you work with. But, overall, I’m blessed to work with a team who knows how to work hard, play hard, and love well.

This week has been a good reminder that ministry was never meant to be done alone and that the Christian life is best experienced “in community.” On that front, if you’ve not found a GREATER group for our spiritual growth campaign, it’s not too late. You can find a list here as well as GREATER small group resources on our website or in our app.

Construction on Broadview West will start soon. We had over $5,000 given to the project this past Sunday which brought our total to over $130,000 in total pledges. The Lord will take that seed and multiply it so that more and more people come to give thanks to Christ as savior and Lord. Thank you again for your incredible display of generosity!

Remember, there are a few more important dates coming up that require your attention. The first is Mother’s Day at Broadview. We’re going to have a special station set up for families to take their pictures together or even have their picture taken by a professional-grade photographer. It’s a great day to invite a friend!

The next big date is Vacation Bible School. It’s launching early this summer. (June 11-15) We still need volunteers and the sooner your register your child the better. You can do all of that on our website or in the Gathering Place. Talk of VBS means summer is officially upon us.

Summer time, at Broadview, means mission trips, summer camps, and Monday Night for the Master. Our church calendar is NEVER dull. I can tell you that. This year’s Monday Night for the Master is going to start July 10th. It’s a great time to meet other people from the church, share a great meal together and hear fantastic preaching.

This year we are theming the summer preaching series so that you’ll be better equipped to multiply your faith. One of the reasons people don’t multiply is because their not confident in their faith. We want to help you be able to share the Gospel with confidence and persuasion. So this year we’re tackling some of the “tough questions” that Christians face and how to answer them well.

I hope you’ll RSVP these dates on your calendar now. They’ll be here before you know it! If there’s anything you’d like me to know about or if there’s anyway I can pray for you then please let me know by replying to this message.

I hope you have a great rest of your week!

Blessings,

Pastor Wes
