Hey Church Family

I hope you’ve had a great week! It’s hard to believe we’re already at the end of the spring semester. The newer I get the faster time goes. The Lord has blessed our church these past four months and I’m so thankful.

If you’ve not been on campus since the beginning of the “COVID Days,” I hope you’ll consider joining us again soon. The effectiveness of the vaccines have been such a good gift from the Lord to our country and our community. While nobody would ever want to live through 2020 again, the Lord has brought good out of the hardship.

Let’s Block Party!

We are gathering together for a block party this coming SATURDAY at Broadview West. The west campus is located at 6500 Military Drive. (Directly north of Dyess Air Force Base). I hope you’ll take time out of your Saturday to join us. We want it to be a “fun-for-the-whole-family” church-wide gathering.

The goal of this block party is to unite our two campuses together and serve the community surrounding Broadview West. We will be passing out flyers tomorrow and Saturday morning if anybody wants to help advertise the event.

You can contact Vernon directly.

Here are some of the details:

Food: Hot dogs, chips, water, cotton candy, snow cones

Kids stuff: bouncy houses, jump ropes, hoola hoops, sidewalk chalk, cake walk, putt putt, fishing game

For adults: Corn hole, music, baskets of food raffle

Remember if you signed up to be a volunteer we need you there by 4:30. Everybody else we will see you there at 5:00!

Only A Few Spots Left

I also want to encourage you to sign up your child for Vacation Bible School if you haven’t already done so. We limited the number of participants this year and there are only a handful of spots left.

I honestly didn’t think they’d fill up this fast but they have! Hopefully next year we won’t have to cap the attendance but we are doing what we have to do for this year. You can sign up your child by visiting broadview.life/vbs.

Recognizing Seniors & Youth Camp

Before we close out this week’s update I want to encourage you to join us for church this coming weekend. We will have a special recognition of our graduating seniors. Please be praying for these students as they step out into a pivotal new season of their life.

There is also a Youth Camp Parent Meeting this coming Sunday, May 23rd, at 12:15PM in the Education Building. You can contact Pastor Joseph for more information. This years youth camp is July 5-9 at the Highland Lakes encampment in Spicewood, TX.

You can learn more about the camp here.

That’s it for me this week. I really hope to see yall this coming weekend at Broadview West. Remember, there will be no prayer meeting this next Monday. For the summer we will meet the LAST Monday of June, July, August and September. Thank you to everyone who made the prayer meetings this spring so special.

The Lord has poured new life into our congregation and the future is bright. Please continue praying for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Pray that we have everything we need to walk in the fullness of the Holy Spirit for the days and months ahead.

If there is any way I can pray for you in particular please reply to this email and let me know. Be sure you check out the upcoming events below for how to stay engaged throughout the summer!

Until He Comes,

Pastor Wes

New Transportation Ministry

We’re starting a new ministry in our church to people who need help with transportation.

Most of us just get in our car and go to various appointments, grocery shopping, trip to the library; the list of things we do is an everyday occurrence.  That’s not the case for many other people in our congregation. For them, finding a ride can prove quiet challenging.

That’s why we’re starting this ministry. It’s an opportunity for us, as a community of believers, to volunteer to give these members a ride. There will be a sign-up sheet at the Gathering Place and at the Information Desk for those of you who would be interested in donating some of your time to this new ministry.

You can also sign up online. You may be able to offer several hours per week, or even one or two hours per week.  After you sign up, we will contact you with more information.   Thanks so much!
