Weekly Update | July 5th

Hello Church Family,

In today’s weekly update I wanted you to hear from our missions/West Campus pastor, Vernon Ferguson. He is going to talk about all of the great things that happened during the Family Mission Trip 2017. Here’s Vernon!

And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 1:14

We thank God for the blessings and His presence on the Family Mission Trip this year. The last week of June is our regular time to travel to South Texas every year. This year there were 41 people, including families, youth, from Broadview main campus and Broadview West.

Two ministries were our main focus during the week; Vacation Bible School and Construction on the Youth/Children’s camp. This year we averaged around 160 kids Monday-Friday from 4 years new to 12th grade.

The kids were brought in for breakfast at 8:00 am and were finished eating by 9:00. Then VBS started at 9:00 and rotated the kids through bible story, arts and crafts, refreshments, games, and recreation until 12:00. After that, the school system brings lunch for the kids and after lunch we take them home.

The school district sets this up throughout the community asking churches to bring in the kids to make sure they get a least 2 meals a day and it gives the church a opportunity to share the gospel.

The church we partner with, Iglesia Bautista Manantial De Vida in Penitas Texas, has done this for 9 years now. They commit to 4 weeks starting June 1st and are ready for us to come and relieve them the last week of June.

The Lord blessed our trip tremendously: safe travel, no sickness, or accidents and 33 kids praying to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior! He also blessed with an amazing team of servants, I would like to thank them for their hard work and servant attitude this last week.

But of course we can’t leave out the Construction team. They did a great job completing the installation of the doors and building a wall that created two rooms. Pastor Omar was very excited to get this done because they started children’s camp Monday and now the kids could sleep in the new building. Thank you men.

And thank you Broadview Church! It takes the whole church to be on mission for the Lord and it was evident you did your part in praying for us.

God Bless

Vernon
