Hello Church Family,
I hope you’re having a great week! This Sunday is EASTER!! It’s one of the biggest days of the year for Christian people. It’s a day in which we celebrate that fact that Jesus didn’t stay in the tomb but that, three days after his crucifixion, God raised Jesus from the dead. It’s going to be a great day and I hope you’ll join us this Sunday at one of our four morning worship services.
Our Main Campus will have our traditional morning service times of 8:25, 9:40 & 11:00 but there will be no small groups meeting that day. Our West Campus will have it’s service at 11:00.
This Easter will be a big day for us. We will have the ingathering for “Multiply: Bless The West.” For those who can’t make it to church, you can fill out your commitment card or go ahead and make your pledge through the website or on the app.
We will also kickoff our spring spiritual growth campaign entitled “Greater: Overcoming The Lesser Life.” If you don’t have a small group, this is the time to join one. Even if you only go for the six weeks of the campaign, it’s really the best way to fully benefit from the growth campaign.
Most of our Sunday morning groups will be doing the campaign along with the rest of the church. However, if you’re not able to make it to a group on Sunday morning, there will also be GREATER groups that meet on every other night of the week except for Friday and Saturday. There will even be a group that meets on Sunday nights (5:00) for those who find that day to be most convenient.
One of the reasons I’d encourage you to be part of a group is so that you can participate in the small group discussions and watch the small group video resources that coincide with the Sunday morning messages. There are resources and content covered in the groups that won’t be covered on Sunday mornings.
You will also be given a 100 page growth guide that follows along with the campaign. The growth guide contains a section for Sunday morning message notes, small group discussion questions, and daily devotionals for each week of the campaign. It’s a great tool that I hope you’ll use to fully benefit from the campaign.
A lot of hard work has gone into making this something that will help you grow spiritually. However, the Holy Spirit is the true agent of transformation. The Spirit of God will use the Word of God to build up and transform the people of God. This campaign and all the tools associated with it are merely instruments in the hands of the Master. If you’ll give yourself over to his purposes for your life during these next several months, then I know you’ll experience something truly great.
I want to close by encouraging you to invite someone to church this Easter. We created an event on our Facebook page. If you use social media whatsoever then that’s one of the easiest ways to spread the Word about this Sunday’s Easter Service. You can share the event on Facebook or share this page from our website.
Anything you do will help. The best way to invite someone to church is, of course, a personal invite. Face to face, text message, email or phone call…it doesn’t matter. Most people will come to church if personally invited by a friend. Of all the days to do it, this Sunday is one of the best.
I hope we see you there! If there’s anything I can pray for you about, please let me know! Remember to keep Emmanuel Baptist Church in your prayers. That’s the name of the church plant in New Caney that we’re partnering with. They launched the plant last Sunday. Keep Travis and the Boyd family in your prayers as they continue working out the logistics for the move and depend on God’s provision during this time.
Have a great rest of your week!
“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
(Colossians 3:1-4)
Blessings,
Pastor Wes
