Weekly Update | July 26th

Hello Church Family,

I hope you’re having a good week so far. We’re on the tail end of the month of July. Feels like the summer has really flown by! On Monday during our staff-meeting we discussed some of the things that had taken place over the summer and it’s amazing how fast time flies when you’re having fun.

We also spent some time planning for the upcoming 2020 VIsion Celebration Service on August 27th. It was fun writing on the whiteboard all of the vision related things that’ve taken place since last August. We weren’t able to write down every big thing that helped advance our vision but we did name a few.

I wanted to share a list so that you’ll be encouraged to come to the Vision Celebration Service and hear more about what God has been doing. These are just bullet points. We’re working on how to best share the stories so that you’re encouraged and motivated to keep laboring alongside the Lord in his mission to make disciples through the ministry of Broadview Church.

We categorized the events by the four major categories in our 2020 Vision. Here’s what we’ve put down so far. If you have something else that needs to be included then please reply back to this email so we can have a thorough accounting of the last 12 months.

Like I said, there are countless other things that we could mention which help advance what we believe the Lord has called us to do in our 2020 Vision. But, these are some of the highlights.

We will start the service at 5:00 with a church-wide meal. It’s going to be a traditional African meal so be sure you join us! The service will start at 6:00 and last about an hour. We will conclude the service with a short business meeting that will appoint new members to our finance team and board of trustees.

This is one of my favorite services of the year! I hope you’ll take the time to join us. You’ll leave encouraged and optimistic about what the Lord has done and will continue to do.

One more thing that I need to mention is the Fall Perspectives course that kicks off August 28th. This is a 13 week course that helps participants discover how to use what’s in them to bless the world around them. You were made for more than just living an “ordinary life.” The Lord wants to use you for something extraordinary. Something that will glorify his name and grow your faith.

You can register online. The price is $250 but there are scholarships available. Just let me know if you want to take the class. You can also attend the first three weeks for free. If anything, just try it out for a few weeks and see if it’s something you may be interested in! I’ll be teaching week five of our course this year. I was really impressed by the course last year when we hosted it.

I hope you have a great rest of your week. If there’s any way I can pray for you please just let me know.

Blessings,

Pastor Wes
