VBS Registration
Last update I made an appeal for some more VBS Volunteers and I just want to commend you for stepping up to the plate and filling all of those positions. We are opening up registration for kiddos on May 1st so be sure you’re at the ready. You can use the link below.
Remember, we have a VBS volunteer training on May 13th at 6PM.
VBS is one of the largest outreach events we do every year. COVID has changed the way we’re doing VBS this year but we still expect it to have a big impact on the kids in our community and those in our church. Please be praying for the event.
This past Monday we put out a prayer request to raise $800 for feeding VBS volunteers during the week. Amazingly, God answered that prayer within the hour! The Lord is good and I’m excited to see how He will move in the lives of these kiddos through this outreach.
A Generous Church
Speaking of generosity in our church, I just have to celebrate again your willingness to help meet the practical needs of people in our city. Last update I spoke about the Embrace Grace shower and within the FIRST week of the display being up every item tag was taken.

Check out this screen shots from our Embrace Grace director, Janet White. Like she says, I would encourage anybody who can make it to make an appearance at the shower on Saturday and say hello. It starts at 2PM in the Main Building Fellowship Hall.

An Investment Into Our Students
For those of you who have given towards these needs, thank you so much. It really does make a difference. Also, a percentage of every dollar you give to our General Fund goes to make things like Embrace Grace possible so thanks to everyone who gives.
There is one more need that we have coming up for those who are interested in some strategic generosity. Our students are attending youth camp at Highland Lakes encampment in Spicewood, TX. You can learn more about the camp here.

Camp Scholarships
We have several students who will be going to camp who do not have the financial means to cover the student portion of the cost. It’s $300 per student and the church is covering 1/2 of that amount through our General Fund. We are looking to secure 15 scholarships for students in need. That’s a total of $2,250.
Youth camp has historically been a very important part of the ministry to students in our church. It’s an opportunity not just for making friendships and building relationships. It’s also a week long focus on the Lord and his will for each student. First time decisions for Christ are often made during youth camp.
Any amount you give towards this need will be used by the Lord to help further His redemptive purposes in the lives of these students. Many of the students in our youth ministry are not Christians. They come because the church feels like a safe place for them. An encounter with the Lord at church camp could change their lives forever.
Please be praying for this camp and all the students who attend. Pray for Joseph and the entire student ministry team as they invest into the lives of these students each week and throughout the year. It requires a great deal of wisdom, discernment and love. If you have any questions you can email Joseph directly.
Discover Broadview
The last thing I’ll mention is the Discover Broadview lunch this coming Sunday. We typically do this lunch on the second Sunday of every month but given the second Sunday is Mother’s Day we are moving the date. This is a lunch for people wanting to learn more about Broadview.
If you’ve been visiting and are interested in church membership then this is an ideal environment to explore that decision. Attending the lunch doesn’t make you a member but you can join during the lunch if you want (you can also join at any other time by just talking with me or one of the staff after service or during the week.)
It’s really just an informal lunch with me (and usually my family) to help me get to know new folks in the church and help new folks in the church get answers to their questions. If you plan on coming this Sunday reply to this email and let me know or register below.
Conclusion
That’s it for this week! You can read about more upcoming events below if you’re interested.
I hope you’ll join us this Sunday as we continue our study in the book of the Revelation and then again on Monday as we gather to pray. If you have an unchurched friend or family member then consider inviting them THIS WEEKEND and join me in praying for God to move in a special way.
Until He Comes,
Pastor Wes
