Hey Church Family,
I hope you’re having a great week! This fall is flying by. It’s hard to believe we’re almost into November. The days are about to get shorter. The nights are about to get longer. Thanksgiving and Christmas are soon approaching. There are many things to look forward to and celebrate.
A similar kind of thing is happening around here. We’ve got several events happening in the very near future around here. Let me give you a quick run down.
Here & Now – October 25th
Tomorrow at 6:30pm our single adult ministry will be gathering at 201 Mesquite for a night of worship. Jase Richard Beard will be sharing a message and Kirk House will be leading worship. You can RSVP here.
Young Adult Gathering – October 26
Our young adult gatheringis the following day. We will meet at 6:00pm for some food, games, fun and fellowship. There’s no real agenda other than meeting new people and hanging out with new friends. Our young adult population is growing at Broadview and this will be a great way to get everybody together under one roof and have a good time.
Childcare is available but you need to RSVP ASAP. Just reply to this email if you think you can come and or need childcare. We will have childcare workers from age 0 to 5th grade.
Church Work Day – October 27
Our church work dayis the day after that! It’s the trifecta of fun around here this week. The church work day will be a time for all of our church family to get together under one roof and make our campus look great. There will be list of projects put together by our building and grounds team that will lay out the work for the day.
You don’t have to be a professional to help! If you have tools, please bring them. We will take care of your lunch if you decide to stick around that long. It’s going to be a great time. Please join us!
Trunk or Treat – October 31
Next Wednesday our main campus will be cancelling our preschool, children and student programming and encouraging participation in our Trunk or Treat at Broadview West. The great folks out at Broadview West always put on a great Trunk or Treat and it’s a good way for us to be a blessing to our city (especially to the kids in the community out by our West Campus.)
We still need lots of candy. If you can contribute in any way then just drop off the bags in the church office..
Safety Team Training – November 10
On November 10th at 10:00am we are hosting another safety team training for our new safety team. If you are interested in serving on the safety team at Broadview then you mustattend this training. The training will take about 2 hours and includes a tour of the campus.
Anybody is welcome to serve on Broadview’s Safety Team. You will be subject to a background check. Those who are licensed to carry are particularly encouraged to attend. If you’re interested in learning more about this service opportunity then you can contact Fred Biddle.
Thanksgiving Service & Meal – November 18
Our annual Thanksgiving service and meal will be on November 18th. We will have a worship and testimony service at 5:00pm. Dinner will be served at 6:00 with Turkey and Dressing as the main course.
If you’re planning to attend, there are some things you could bring to help us feed everyone. We are asking for 14 turkeys and 10 hams. If you can provide one then reply back to this email or sign up in the Gathering Place. You can also help out with sides.

This is always one of the coolest nights of the year for our church family. You’ll get to meet people you’ve not yet met and spend time with your closest friends around the dinner table. The food is also always really good. I hope you can make it!
Family Movie Night – November 30
The last event we have for November is our Family Movie Night on November 30th at 6:00pm. This is a church-wide event put on by our Children’s Ministry. It’s an opportunity for you to come up to the church with your family and hang out with other families over a meal and a movie.
They will be watching a movie called “The Star.” It’s a great opportunity to spend time with other families in our church and connect over a mutual desire to spend quality time with your family. You can contact Ora Morrisonfor more information.
The Rest of the Story
Obviously, there’s a LOT going on and this isn’t even the sum of it. Don’t forget we also have our monthly reoccurring “next step” gatherings. On the second Sunday of every month we have “Discover Broadview.” On the third Sunday of every month we have “Find Your Fit.”
Discover Broadview is a time to learn more about the mission, vision, values and ministry strategy of Broadview. If you’re new to our church, are thinking about joining or you’ve been around a while but you’re just curious what it’s about – be sure to RSVPand join us for the next round!
Find Your Fit is similar to Discover Broadview but it’s a bit more interactive and relational. The goal is for you to walk away from that lunch with a better idea of how to make Broadview a place that feels like home. We will discuss how to get plugged into community, different ministry opportunities and how to take your next step as a follower of Jesus in the life of this local church.
These gatherings have been really helpful for those who’ve attended. I hope you’ll consider joining us next time! You can RSVP all the way into January of next year so go ahead and put it down on the calendar and we will look forward to seeing you when you can make it.
I’m going to go ahead and sign off since this update is getting a little long in the tooth. I hope you have a great rest of your week. This Sunday we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper as a congregation and close out our series on “Following Jesus: Walking Where He Leads.” I’m praying the Lord uses this coming Sunday in a special way in the life of our church.
If there’s anyway I can pray for you, just reply to this email and let me know. I promise that whatever you send me will be taken before the Lord on your behalf. The Bible says we do not have because we do not ask. If I can help you ask the Lord for anything then just let me know and I’ll do it!
Blessings,
Pastor Wes
